Rotting wood is good for wood crafts
They were pretty dirty when they arrived (and as others have mentioned the packaging wasn't damaged so they must have been dirty when packed) but I'm not afraid of a little dirt so I have them and the layer cleaned dirt came off very easily. However, it turned out that the wood was clearly mouldy/rotten and therefore completely unusable. Definitely not recommend.
