When they built my house they apparently wanted to light the kitchen for the farm. In the kitchen they have 7 (yes 7) built-in metal cans. If you do the math, 7 x 65 watts is 455 watts when all 7 bulbs are on. I checked and it equates to about 4 amps for our kitchen lighting. Is it any wonder that I need an economical and energy-efficient alternative to LEDs? I hesitated for a long time because we have a knob for the brightness of the light. I wasn't sure about the compatibility. I've also read reviews that they buzz when dimmed. When I saw these Sylvania LEDVANCE BR30 lights, I decided to try them. At only 7 watts if I replace all 7 of my lightbulbs that's only 49 watts of power consumption, wow! What a huge difference in energy consumption and potential cost savings. My only concern was how they would compare to regular soft white light. Rating 2700K gives them the ideal brightness in my opinion; not too white like 5000K. They turn on and off instantly and dim perfectly. You have a 5 year guarantee. The packaging says they are used 3 hours a day, the lifespan is 13.7 years. Given the energy savings, they will pay for themselves over time. I love her.
