Review on ✏️ Efficient and Stylish: Westcott Electric iPoint Evolution Axis Heavy Duty Pencil Sharpener in Black and Silver by Jessica Lewis

Revainrating 4 out of 5

At least for now. Use in class (35 pens per day).

Other reviewers are right - this thing is quiet! Quieter than my manual Boston. And he shaves the ends quickly and smoothly. (If you're a carpenter, you know this thing makes a clean cut, not a rough cut.) If you're crazy or finicky enough, you know that some sharpeners leave wood SMOOTH compared to others. This keeps your pencil smooth, which tells me the knives are working clean - sharp - efficiently. Oh, and did I mention the 10 year guarantee? Other "good" sharpeners come with a 2 or 3 year guarantee. I called a Staples representative because all of my wife's electric sharpeners are worn out. (She teaches 3rd grade and has 3 sharpeners. The motors are weak and get hot and they all sharpen unevenly and break a lot of leads.) I was wondering if any models were calculated (i.e. constant use). I was told that their Staples School-Smart and X-Acto "Class-Happy" (I paraphrased that middle name. Sorry I don't have model numbers on me) were rated for "5-10 uses per day". ." Seriously?! A model called "School" for "personal or light office use - 5-10 uses a day?" My wife also has a Boston which is more worn than the other two. I don't know how old two of them are but Staples is almost new I know for sure none of the three would suit someone who sharpens 10 or more pencils in a day or more 3 in a row (you feel through the plastic case about 5 warm on.) A Staples rep told me that the $60 X-Acto has a model that is designed for continuous use.You can read the reviews to compare this model with this one I made and this one looked better Based on initial testing I would say this sharpener is as good as it gets Super quiet very fast with consistent sharpness It remains to be seen if it can handle 30 pencils a day but the high score and the 10 year guarantee as well as its weight t and the ease with which it sharpens tells me this pencil is a winner. Did you mention that you can almost see the tip when it's sharpened? hard enough for the auto-stop to work, the blades just stop touching. So I guess you could "tone" the tip further if you felt it was necessary. (I almost never press that hard because this thing sharpens so easily.) So far I'm pretty impressed. And if there is a 10-year guarantee, then this is a sharpener from he**uva. Edit: I just took off a star as we found that the sharpener only works for pencils up to 3 inches. Still a great sharpener in all other respects, but for shorties you'll need to use a spare sharpener.
