Ideal for replacing the original key fob when only the housing is damaged. You transfer the internal electronics from your old key fob to this one. I had the rubber button cover peeled off, so in this replacement I actually just replaced that front panel. I left the back as it had the Cadillac logo on it and this one didn't. This replacement doesn't seem to use rubber on the keys, which should mean it's more durable. So far it's working great! You must also move the emergency key that is pulled from the key fob. It comes with a plug. Where this emergency key meets, the silver sides of the key fob don't fit as tightly as the original, with very little gap between the silver pieces, but this doesn't cause any problems and isn't loose. Overall, a great inexpensive option to replace the key fob body!
