Review on Easyturn Stake with Cable Corkscrew Dog Tie Out - Robust Handle, Holds up to 100 lbs - Petmate by Amber Jones

My dog didn't like it

First off, it's probably a lot of common sense (but I've learned from experience) that if you're going to use this stake, you need to make sure the ground isn't too soft (the dog can use it otherwise pull out). I used it once in the back of my house where the soil was pretty wet and my dog could pull everything out and run away. So if it is easy to put it in the ground, it will be easy for the dog to pull it out. In addition, if you leave it in the same place in the ground and it rains, you need to check how durable it is in the ground. My dog is only 21 pounds so a larger dog would have had an even easier time getting him out. That is the main reason for the three stars I gave it. In a way it works well when used correctly, but can also be a false sense of security in dogs strong enough to pull it out (or when the ground changes properties and becomes soft from rain etc.). ). Other than that, it seems pretty useful otherwise. The only problem is that my Miniature Schnauzer didn't care. She'll land on the floor as soon as she realizes this thing won't let her near me. She's a very sociable dog and walking around on this thing didn't seem attractive to her. Which is very bad because I was really hoping it would do her some good. On the plus side I was able to keep my dog outside while I worked in the garden. The downside was that the dog seemed unhappy with the fact that he was essentially on a very long leash and couldn't follow me wherever I went, but all dogs are different and this may not be an issue for other dogs.
