1. This device is designed to convert HDMI (computer) signals to VGA (monitor) signals. It doesn't work the other way around (if you connect it to a VGA port on your computer and an HDMI port on your display).2. Depending on the device, the device may require power. This requires a micro USB cable and a free USB port on the back of the computer. You won't know if you need a USB power cable until you try it. And then you need to order it because this device doesn't come with a Micro USB cable. There are devices at comparable prices with great reviews that come with a cable, so I'd suggest getting one of those instead.3. I cannot judge the quality of this device as I was unable to test it due to having to use the specified USB cable. Given the price and the need to buy one separately, I give it 2 stars because it's not that good value for money. I had to buy a competitor's product and return this unit.
