Review on Park Tool Bottom Bracket 32Mm by Shane Grosland

If you have Octalink v1 you will need this.

If you have an Octalink v1 and plan to keep your bike for a while, you will want this tool in your collection at some point. There are other types of bottom bracket tools, but this one is easy to use. None of the tools I've found solve the simple problem of staying still when trying to apply pressure. So, following another reviewer's advice, I bought a set of Home Depot washers (1.5" diameter) and used a quick release skewer from my front tire. Once the tool is secured with a skewer, all you need is a large adjustable crescent wrench and a long pipe (if the shackle is a really good fit there). After installing all the tools and the extra length of tubing I had on hand, the mount was very easy to remove from the frame. Now all you have to do is decide whether to buy the easy to find BB-5500 or look for a more expensive BB like the Dura Ace. Good luck, they're not so easy to find now. Buy one when you find one, even if you don't need it right now.
