Review on Airthings Wave Indoor Quality Monitor by Robert Espinoza

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good support. best for testing, measuring and validating

My first review was negative. I bought two to try and triangulate where the smoke is coming from in my apartment. After getting strange results, I put them side by side and they still showed different information. I have contacted support. They have confirmed the issue and told me they have a firmware update that will fix it. They checked me several times to make sure everything is fine after the update. Unfortunately I had to send one back so I couldn't test it with the new firmware. It's been almost 6 months now. Using air ducts, I was able to determine where the smoke was going. The app is still garbage. It often fails to sync and I have to stop it for it to work. I'm pretty sure it's Bluetooth bound. It cares if bluetooth is off when launching the app, and doesn't seem to recover until it's killed and started with bluetooth on. The graphics in the app suck. The scaling options are 48 hours, 1 week, 1 month and 1 year and you cannot pan the chart. It's silly enough just to average quality across these ranges. This means you can only see spikes in the last 48 hours as they are averaged over longer periods of time. This should produce a triple chart with high, medium and low values. You should be able to select and zoom in on part of the chart in the past. nope Air quality is highly dependent on air temperature for no reason. Cold day, air quality red? That's stupid. I'll try to find another TVOC monitor to check this out. So far it's not negative because I can't test it, but I'm cautious after the two I originally got didn't test it. Pros: - Battery life, still at 96% after almost 6 months of size. - seems to measure correctly now - all data can be downloaded via the website - good support Cons: - awful app - awful awful app - only takes about 5 minutes to solve, it can take up to 5 seconds to install and use more battery
