Review on NO CUT Key Fob Case Shell For Honda Accord Civic Pilot CR-V Remote (Pack Of 2) by Juan Castillo

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Worked on a 2007 Honda Pilot. Changing keys - there is a trick - see photo/details

This is just a case - you need to transfer the metal key and transponder chip - see below - plastic quality thin ( not thick like the original Honda case) and the bolt is also thinner - so let's look at durability. No instructions (see photo). I bought 2 previous ones from another seller who broke so I gave this seller a try after reading some tips from other buyers. Feels/looks like the same material but based on hints I actually got them close together (see photos). Tips: This is a case only - you will need to remove the metal key and the small black transponder chip from your original key case (you will likely need to pull both out of the Honda case - the transponder is a very small black rectangle which you will need to remove from the holder in the Pull out the original Honda key case - I used a knife to break the case open, then a small flat head screwdriver to break the case all the way in. 1. The black shell only fits in the case one way AND has a groove you put it in on both sides need to insert (see pic. pics) 2. The key will only fit properly into the sheath on one side (check/insert until it is properly seated before inserting into the sheath. 3. First insert the key into the scabbard - I had to push down to get it in there until the hole didn't line up that well on one side so fo I lied to the advice of another buyer and put a screw. alas and vice versa.4. Then insert this cup into the back of the case cutout (I did this key out because it was easier but figured I could probably do it key in as well. Difficult to align - start with a small indentation ). 5. The holes in the button/cup/shell didn't line up perfectly so I used a small pair of pliers with tape wrapped around them. so as not to damage the case/sheath and put the key in the sheath as far as possible and finally aligned the holes better - don't press too hard or the thin plastic will break through 7. I have my transponder on the door opener key fob (see photo ) fastened with folded tape - in the area of a small indentation so that you don't lose it if your case breaks / opens Transponder chip ! 8. It fits perfectly into the two holes (and the slot for the panic button) on the top of the new shell (my previous purchase from the seller didn't fit and had to be repaired by hand, but this one did). Close the shell but start at the back and line up the groove there and work your way down and snap together. When I got to the end where the key was everything was locked but there was a small gap where the key was. I couldn't tell what was causing it, but I was able to press it firmly against the table, fully closed on this end, while tightening the screw - BE CAREFUL not to over-tighten the screw or it will rip the plastic off - it is a natural stop.10. Try removing the key - mine worked with no problems - see photos of the transponder chip.
