When I bought these tools I had no idea how good they were. Remember I've used a Dewalt 18v for years which I bought as part of a 4 tool kit (5 inch circular saw, hacksaw and flashlight with good carrying case, 2 batteries and charger). The old drill still works, but I'm preparing to replace the skin on my deck and need a more powerful drill to get the screws out. On high setting the impact driver loosens 3 1/2" screws in less than 1/3 second or so. The screw literally hits the drill bit against my hand when it comes out. These screws are strong. With 18V it would be difficult to get them out , some have started to rust. When I use an old Dewalt 18v drill in comparison it produces a lot of torque and can twist my wrist if I set the clutch too high. This impact wrench will safely disengage the clutch if the bolt won't turn moves but produces much less torque against your wrist while repeated taps apply torque to the screw at the same time until the screw starts turning. I was amazed at how fast a drill can turn. Pretty amazing. On paper it is difference maybe not so noticeable but in reality the drill is far superior to the old one simply a reliable tool plus is the cruise control really good. This tool gives me the ability to precisely control speed when I can let it crawl for more delicate work, as well as extreme power when needed. Very impressive! I did not expect such a level of satisfaction. Can't praise him enough!
