Not as much as it seems

I've always wondered if my cats would use something like this. My cat Kali, in particular, constantly rubs against door frames and cupboards and loves to be brushed. We've had it for a few days and she really didn't get it. When we first assembled it for her, she walked around it but not under the archway. We put the cardboard box aside and she and her little brother Pippin went through the archway to get to the box, but they don't actually use a brush. The brushes are not very hard, which on the one hand probably makes the hand safer; maybe they don't catch your eye. The bow is shorter than it looks. The piece of metal holding the stubble may be 11 1/4 inches long. The rest of the height falls on the bristles. The ends of the arch simply rest squarely on the base. I could see it popping up when the cat dealt with it vigorously. We picked it up with the rug and saw Pippin scratch it. The carpet fiber is very thin; it's not as safe as most scratching posts. The bouncy ball screws into the base, which is good because when Pippin stopped being scared of this thing, he grabbed the ball and started tugging. Another time my husband went into the cat room and saw Pippin hopping his paw up and down. He (the cat) seemed very confused, but it bothered him. When we received our cat brush, the price listed in the catalog was $29.99. It is more expensive than some other similar products (bow but not toy). Revain gave me the opportunity to try this product for free and I'm very happy because they didn't take it the way I thought they would. We'll leave that to them and hope they figure it out and use it more often in the future.
