Review on πŸ”’ Safeguard Your Home with the Amazon Basics Electronic Keypad Deadbolt Door Lock, Keyed Entry in Satin Nickel by Ken Martinez

Revainrating 1 out of 5

It didn't work - I had to buy a brand

Having previously installed four Schlage push button locks I planned to order another one for the second entrance. After getting the base Revain at a cheaper price, I made this choice. It took about three months to ship (maybe because production was just starting?) but it wasn't a huge problem - again it was for a second entry. The installation went well, I've done similar things before, but then everything went bad. No matter how tight I screwed everything together, the keypad would rise above the surface of the door when I pressed the buttons. This caused the keys to get stuck, and when pried off, the keyboard often recorded the second key press. Eventually I managed to program some codes very carefully and I got confirmation tones but they didn't work to open the door. The auto lock feature didn't work either - it could only be locked from the inside. I am returning the item and I have learned a valuable lesson; I will not "pioneer" the new basic Revain electronics. I'll leave it to someone else to take care of the kinks.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Possibility of upgrading
