Review on Renewed Lenovo Legion 5 Gaming Laptop: 15.6" 144Hz, AMD Ryzen 7-4800H, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, RTX 2060 6GB, Phantom Black by Nguyn Trn Trung Qun ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product is good, there are only a few minor flaws.

For my tasks (development) - I consider it an almost perfect laptop. Well, first of all, performance. Secondly, the cooling system is simply magnificent - two top-end fans and 4 radiators - air outlet to the sides (less intensively) and back (more intensively). Even under a decent load (3 browsers with many tabs, PHP Storm with a large project) it remains very quiet and cold. At the same time, the temperatures on the video card and processor are kept in the range of 35-45 degrees with inaudible fans. Thirdly, the keyboard is membrane with a fairly large key travel. Unusually, but there is an excellent tactile response from each press. The cover of the keys is a good pleasant plastic - I repeat, easily soiled, at the same time very pleasant to the touch. The soft touch working panel is also very pleasant to the touch, while not being easily soiled. I use Ubuntu as the main operating system, so for me personally, the presence of Windows would rather be a minus. For those who want to work with Linux on this machine: 1. Not all cores support video card drivers, namely proprietary Nvidia-440. These drivers will work for you on kernel version 5.62022. Drivers do not work on regular and other (including 5.8) kernels and do not allow using an external monitor at the same time and the brightness of the backlight is not regulated. 2. The touchpad will most likely not start out of the box.

Pros
  • - Excellent performance - Very fast Nvme SSD - High-quality screen 144Hz - Ergonomic keyboard - Cooling system (!)
Cons
  • The case, though pleasant and solid, but plastic and easily soiled. Marked keyboard Windows Screen glare is visible on a black background, which cannot but upset.
