So here's the situation: I have a solid wood floor (something like laminate/plastic) that looks good but isn't always practical - this material scratches and even tears when it does . can be flashed, and unlike real wood it cannot (as far as I know) be sanded and/or polished. Add in a few cats who are constantly dragging their dirty paws for dirt around the house (they are indoor and outdoor pets). Then add a caster office chair to the mix. a chair that I use all the time and of course cats also hang out on. I've fought a valiant war, but I just can't keep the floor clean often enough that the casters on this chair don't scratch recklessly every time the chair is moved. Daily cleaning/mopping/vacuuming just didn't help and as a result the floor is now showing signs of wear in that area. Ouch! So I needed something very low-pile and sturdy to lay down for protection - something like a chair rug - but I also wanted it to match the drapes and the overall color scheme of the room, rather than just slap on something gray. This little rug did it! Cats are instantly attached to it and happily nap, the chair rolls over nicely, vacuums quickly and since I've had it I haven't had to deal with the "wheel crunching" on my poor wooden floor. Plus it's just perfect as the colors look absolutely lovely - not only do they 'stand out' nicely against the hardwood floor (medium oak) but complement my existing decor. I really hope it lasts a reasonable amount of time - as long as (maybe a month of daily use?) everything is fine. Definitely happy with this purchase!
