Time Warner Cable Approved Modem - Save $10/month

I know it sounds like a publicity stunt, but it's usually because it sounds too good to be true, but it's not. All major cable providers are required to allow you to purchase your own cable modem under the FTC and cannot force you to rent their modems for ever-increasing fees. Time Warner Cable recently increased modem rental to $10 per month, which means this modem will pay for itself in 7 months if you have Prime or opt for free shipping. 1. If you have a phone line, you can use this modem for your internet and use the other setting only for phone service and not return. According to the FTC, they cannot charge for rental of telephone equipment and therefore cannot charge for their modem if it is only used to provide telephone service.2. They will try to drag out the process, just tell them you made sure it's on the approved list and you can give them the MAC address when they're ready, make sure modem is connected to coax and powered on before calling . The MAC address is on the back of the modem where the coaxial screws are located.3. They will warn that using their own modem will not provide "Equipment" support. It's a deterrent tactic, which essentially means they don't cover it if the modem fails or is struck by lightning. Now that this modem is backed by a 1-year warranty and you'll save $120 over that period if it fails, it would still be cheaper to buy your own hardware. In summary, this product has shown exceptional results, this DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem delivers faster speeds from Time Warner Cable. I'm currently running it at 50Mbps (Ultimate Tier) and it doesn't even flinch when paired with my Nighthawk router. A highly recommended purchase for any Time Warner customer.
