I thought this was a great deal for what you get! This should be treated with caution, as I am not (yet!) an "artist”, but a beginner in drawing. So with this full disclosure. I love this set! It is very convenient when traveling and fits perfectly in my shoulder bag or backpack. Everything is kept in perfect order (and of course I'm very picky when it comes to ordering my pencils from hardest to softest) so I can easily find what I want. The pens appear to be of good quality, although again I'm no expert. The eraser is good. I like my Staedtler pencil sharpener better than the one that came with it, but the sharpener is functional and ok. Not enough in my opinion to deduct a star in my rating. The sketchbook is small and I definitely recommend buying it separately, which I did (mine is from Strathmore and I keep it in a separate case which I also keep in my purse). But for the price it's a great set and it gave me everything I needed to get started!
