I was pleasantly surprised when this turned out to be such a good deal.The housing holds the mister and the lid keeps the extra splashing from flying out of the container. I really like that the housing is a separate piece and when the mister eventually wears out I can swap in a new one. The housing also comes apart so if the mister gets stuck in it after long use, it would be easy to take it apart, clean it and get it loose. The cord of the mister has a little rubber tab on it to lock the cord in place if you run it through a container, I snugged that against the housing to keep the mister tight in the housing. The foam ring keeps the mister at the perfect height and floats up and down with the water level automatically.The mister itself seems to be of solid design. It slid snuggly into the housing and puts off a ton of mist. The water level sensor auto shuts off the mister if the water level gets too low so I don't have to worry about it breaking if I forget to top off the water. I am trying to fill a terrarium with mist and fully expected to need several of these misters, but this single one works so well I'll only need to order 1 more as a backup.I found the exact same mister for $14 more on a popular aquarium supply web store. With that savings, I can almost get 2 for the price of one buying from this seller.If I had a request for the manufacturer, I would request that the housing be sold in black to hide it in terrariums, and a clear plastic version so the misters with LEDs can use it to displace the light when used in little ponds and water features.You won't be disappointed with this mister/housing combo its great.
