I agree with those who say this works great but self-destructs over time. Crushing ice is no easy task. Vacuuming on soapstone kitchen surfaces works great. I think we can hitch a tow truck to it and tow the house. Crank a little. . . Well, suffice it to say that the ergonomics are weak. It's a bit awkward to turn. I used it almost every day for a few months until one of the rotating PLASTIC teeth that the blades go through broke. i hate it but i love it. . so i ordered another one. I suspect when it explodes. . . I'll look for a commercial version for a few hundred dollars. . . . but this thing makes good crushed ice. At least for now. WARNING: When the plastic pin broke, through blind luck and luck I saw the white plastic buried in the ice I had just placed in the jar. I'm afraid of what would happen if this sharp piece of plastic got into a drink and hit someone in the throat. BE CAREFUL AND WATCH THE BLADES EVERY TIME YOU FALL THE ICE.
