Parents always wonder how I get the naughtiest kids to behave. Here's the solution! ONLY A JOKE! I use them on my husband to make him behave. Works like clockwork and is worth every penny. But seriously, they're great. I have monitor barkers who go crazy every time another dog walks by the house, every time my neighbors come home etc. I give them a free pass once a month when the tornado sirens are tested. I tried the collar on my arm to see how strong the shock was at the lowest level and I was surprised but not offended. My husband refused to experience it himself, which I think should be a must for anyone with a remote control. I really don't know why there should be such high settings because there seems to be such great potential for animal cruelty. PLEASE, if you think the collar is not working, make sure it is BEFORE increasing the pain level further. In any case, it only took the dogs a few shots at the lowest setting to get the message from their alert and frantic barking. Now I either vibrate or just beep to keep them in sync. My dogs are very smart, so your results may vary. Different length tines are VERY appreciated as my boys have a lot of thick double hairs on the back of their necks. The short pins would render this collar useless for her breed and I would have to send it back. Now when they start acting like idiots, I just put collars on them and they know I won't put up with their stupidity. Sure, it was a little pricey, but the peace of mind and sanity (not just mine, but my neighbors') is worth it!
