Flameless candles of this type are a good compromise between the style of the moving flame (expensive) and the style of indoor lighting with no visible flame. They are very realistic in low light and in the dark. Obviously the fake convex flame the LED sits in doesn't look that great in full light. They have three levels of brightness and I have to admit that the middle level is the most realistic, but I really love being able to make it a little brighter. The only thing I didn't quite like was the color of the LED; it is bright white and not warm at all, like a real yellowish or golden flame. However, I was able to fix it cheaply enough by painting the flame's convex plastic body with a yellow marker and rubbing it with rubbing alcohol until I reached a spot on the plastic that rendered the light resistant. It really adds to the realism.
