I started out with a very nice California car cover for my vintage car, but it was supposed to cover my race car and only keep out water and the elements - such great sealed parts. I'm less worried about paint protection on this car than on the other car. Now, this isn't a $300 car cover, and I wasn't expecting that at $55, but even with that I'm very disappointed. Firstly, the bag only has zippers on the front and back, one in the middle would be a good idea. with all "universal" use of this case. The clamps above are the cheapest plastic, apparently because when I cut and tightened them they both cracked and broke. That was before they got tough and really put pressure on her. They couldn't stand the strap slipping through the buckle without breaking. As for the lid itself I think it repels water very well and unless you care about the color of the car it would be a good idea to keep the elements out. It's quite windy for me and although I've been using it for less than a week it's already torn in one spot and keeps coming off the car due to the lack of a center strap. Also, the zipper on one door keeps opening due to the wind. At this point I just removed the case as it doesn't even hold up and in a week it's broken and ripped. Overall I wouldn't recommend this based on my experience. had with him, even at $55. I took a chance and lost. I have to assume that there are cheaper cases out there.
