Review on ๐Ÿ’จ Dorman 621-102 Engine Cooling Fan Assembly for Cadillac/Chevrolet Models - Efficient Cooling Solution in Sleek Black Design by Michael Gonzales

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Works great after minor modifications. (SEMI-PROTECTIVE!)

The actual part is only half covered (as shown on Dorman's website) but in reality it has slightly degraded this. easier to install on my Z51. I was able to flip it around the lower transmission oil and coolant lines so I only had to remove the upper lines. I really doubt half a fairing would make a difference - since I replaced my fan my car has kept the same coolant temp as ever. My air conditioning is now working better than ever. Black car, 100ยบF+ Louisiana weather, bright sunshine and I found myself actually cranking the thermostat! There are a couple of issues: The motor leads are about an inch and a half shorter. I had to cut a piece of plastic on the sheath and connector to allow the cable to connect to the controller. It's still tighter than I'd like, but at least it doesn't get coated in sharp plastic. The channel the wire is supposed to be in is completely useless and I had to cut the zip tie to get it out. The jam nut that secures the controller to the fairing is the wrong size (at least for my 2006). vettte), so keep it on your old shroud. The screw is not included, so keep that one too! I still give the fan assembly 3 stars because it feels solid, barring the cable length issue, and because it's half the price. Delco AC unit (which is the only other brand I've heard of that makes it and I work with cars a lot!)
