I ordered this product for the first time a few months ago and to my complete satisfaction it has worked very well. Two weeks later I ordered another 5 of these trays for my multi-cat family. The extra trays stopped working 3 minutes after assembling and plugging in - my cats haven't even used them. I spoke to PetSafe Customer Service who diagnosed the problem as "something is wrong with the conveyor motor" and sent me 4 replacement motors. Meanwhile, the original packaging, which worked perfectly, stopped working for the same reason: the red light on the display went on and the conveyor belt stopped working. I called PetSafe again and was told that they "had some issues with the new model" I had purchased. They couldn't tell me why they kept making and shipping to paying customers a product that they knew had serious performance issues. When I spoke to PetSafe management, they tried to blame the brand of litter I was using, but when I asked them which litter they recommend (and why they don't explain their recommendations to consumers), it was the same brand. : TidyCat. The 1st unit worked perfectly within a few weeks and I was delighted with the product. However, now I've had to repackage all 6 of these rather large units and send them back for a refund because they all have the SAME PROBLEM. PetSafe suggested I buy their old automatic tray model, but since I'm already awaiting a $600 refund from Revain, I've decided not to take any further risks with their products. They are aware of the design flaw and instead of fixing the same thing and giving consumers a working self-cleaning tray, PetSafe continues to make overpriced trays at around $100 each that either stop working immediately or shortly after purchase function. . Wow - what a TRASH! If I could give negative stars, I definitely would!
