I couldn't decide whether to go with the aluminum version or the plastic version. The plastic version felt too thick and could constrain the ball on impact. The aluminum version is very low to the ground and the ball rolls easily around the edges. The problem is that they bend very easily. I keep mine in the trunk of my car and take it to work.
