Review on 🌾 Heavy Duty Manual Hand Crank Rotary String Bean Frencher/Slicer/Cutter with Clamp - Enamel Cast Aluminum & Stainless Steel Blades by Adam Grady

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It works. Disappointing however.

I took it with high hopes because we grow beans in our garden and I love them French. When I was growing up my mom had a bean french, it was metal and we attached it to the edge of our cutting table and it worked great! So I was excited to get this. However, it ended quite awkwardly. The mounting piece expands to about 1.5 inches, so finding a way to attach it tightly enough for it to work was very difficult. I ended up attaching a wooden cutting board to the counter near the sink and then attaching a mashed beans to it. However, this wasn't the best solution as the torque when spinning the beans often snapped at the nozzle, requiring me to stop and readjust the entire installation. However, the beans were well cooked. Depending on the age and size of the beans, you will probably need 3 beans at a time. I like bush beans that are too big to turn, so I only made 2 at a time. otherwise stuck. It's easy to reverse. I really didn't like that there weren't many safety instructions on it - it would have been pretty easy to cut your fingers if you weren't careful. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like there's anything else; certainly nothing like my mother's French. Now that it works, let's use it.

Pros
  • Good stuff
Cons
  • Weak set
