Difficult to use: graters, peelers and slicers

Difficult to use, grains come out uneven and look ugly. Of course I can't go back because the beans will be ripe when I return😡

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Only available in black

what are you planning to install

The first product I bought and wasn't happy with went all over the kitchen trying to install it. I've been trying to locate the top tube to see how it's installed, can't find anything. It cuts the beans, but you can't hold it and cut the beans.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

I hated spending hours chopping green beans for the holidays.

I hate spending hours cutting green beans for holiday meals. Didn't want to buy the canned version either. It's quick and easy! Cut about 2 bags in 30 minutes! Just don't overload it and do about 3 at a time. Otherwise they get caught in the blades.

Pros
  • GOLS Certified
Cons
  • No Instructions

Not a good product, the clamp is not strong enough to hold.

Guess you get what you pay for, not a very good product, the clamp is not strong enough to hold it during launch so it needs to be held at that point. Not enough hands. It can only process 4-5 beans at a time. So if you prepare a lot, bring your own lunch! I still haven't figured out how to delete it. I can just throw it away!

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Doubtful

Lighter than a knife

Pros: Easier to use than a knife and faster Cons: Clamp is not wide enough to attach to a stand or table. I had to hold it in my hands which made it difficult to use. (My husband is building me a mounting board.) You can only feed one or two beans at a time. If a bean gets stuck in the rotating mechanism, it will be ground up and look like it's been attacked with teeth rather than French cut. Overall I like it because it's faster than using a knife, but it has a few design flaws that I'd like…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Legacy

Don't waste your time

I bought this to process my own beans. We broke it for the debut Frenchman only to be deeply disappointed. I'm sitting here processing my 5 gallons of beans to write to you that the buyer should be careful. It sticks and doesn't rotate. The clamp is too small for a counter or table, so we had to attach it to the cutting board and then press the cutting board against the table. "French" beans look like they've been chewed. It's terrible. I actually stopped to request a refund. Which, by the way,

Bean Frencher - works great!

For years I have seen an identical product in traditional seed catalogs for almost $30. For $13.70. it was the real deal. More importantly - it really works! I've read some concerns about it being blocked or not working properly. It seems to me that this is the result of putting a large number of grains in the feeder at once. I've used a variety of hand trimmers and have found that many bean pods are too limp to feed easily when you push them through. This device stretches the beans. Problem…

Pros
  • Delightful
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Inexpensive Good for mandolins and slicers

Used it once (yesterday), rinsed it off and let it dry on a wire rack. It now has rust on some of the "tinny" parts. I have a few CONS with this item: - the blades aren't sharp enough to not just crush the beans - the blades aren't close enough to get a fine crumble, some beans needed to be done twice and some beans are plain slipping through the clamp is awful, it doesn't fit the countertop and barely fits my chopping board and I had to constantly tighten it because it just dangled - if you're

  • Very good value for money

It works. Disappointing however.

I took it with high hopes because we grow beans in our garden and I love them French. When I was growing up my mom had a bean french, it was metal and we attached it to the edge of our cutting table and it worked great! So I was excited to get this. However, it ended quite awkwardly. The mounting piece expands to about 1.5 inches, so finding a way to attach it tightly enough for it to work was very difficult. I ended up attaching a wooden cutting board to the counter near the sink and then…

  • Weak set
