We have used these to attach our apple tags to our dog collars and they work great. The apple charms fit perfectly and match the collars (standard width 1-1.5 inches). If you have a long haired dog, I recommend checking them regularly to make sure they aren't tangling. They're made of smooth silicone, so they're easy to clean, and while they're stretchy enough to make the collar easy to put on and take off, they also feel well-made not to break.
