Made in Germany but from China (unsurprisingly) with Made in China. Works well and fits as intended. To update. Decided to change the filter before an SUV cross country trip (life was at 55%). When the filter came out, the pleats parted. I'm glad I did what I did, otherwise I would have destroyed the system. Chinese garbage. I threw the second one in the trash and bought an AC Delco. Spend your money and save our fuel system.
