WORKING WITH HARD WATER IN TOILET/WASTE

We have a water softener, but either through my inattention to its contents or its ineffectiveness, we have had/appear to have hard water deposits in such places as our sinks, showers and toilets. I thought our toilet in particular was permanently damaged. It almost seemed as if the porcelain had dissolved just below the waterline and then the hard water had simply built up a layered base over time. Then he turned black. Pretty awesome! I thought I would have to buy a new toilet. I've seen these things on the internet and although I've seen them on screen and then in person I thought it was just a scratch on the china. It was the opposite. It took a bit of cleaning with some pressure (not crazy) and all the debris came out! It looks like the deposits were visible! I haven't tried other sinks, showers, toilets... just out of laziness, but I firmly believe that whatever the hard water stains are, these things should get rid of them. And no soap is needed just to work off buildup! She takes this thing out on her own. It's like pumice-like BBQ grill cleaners that you slide over the grates and the stuff just crumbles. Just be sure to buy enough to keep them in place. And buy a few for, say, the bathroom because you probably don't want to use the same thing on your sink as you do on your disgusting toilet.
