Review on Bridgestone Blizzak VRX 195/55 R16 87S winter by Stanislaw Lambach ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It's not a bad product, nothing extraordinary.

Prior to this, I had ridden RevoGZ for three seasons, those tires were more balanced than the new VRX. Yes, the braking distance purely subjectively became shorter, although it was quite predictable on the RevoGZ, but there was no such terrible lateral drift. If it weren’t for the braking distance and better behavior on wet pavement, which is more relevant for my region, I would put one in general, otherwise I’ll just go into turns more smoothly at a lower speed. I will supplement the review based on the results of the full season, because. spring has already begun in our region. Changed the rating to 3, because. one more problem was added to the lateral drift indicated above, more precisely, a complex - a weak sidewall and, in general, the tires themselves are made of a softer and thinner rubber compound than RevoGZ. On the one hand, the manufacturer can be understood, the requirements of Euro-5 (tire weight reduction) are strangling on all fronts, forcing them to produce delicate tires, but in 2022 this is tantamount to disposable tires. It’s good that our roads are of relatively good quality, but even we caught punctures twice during the season, because. tires are very soft. In general, if I gave RevoGZ five points based on the results of 4 seasons, then VRX barely deserves a triple compared to them, and given that this is only one season, then three with a fat minus!

Pros
  • Braking distance on ice, snow and wet pavement. On wet pavement, they ride almost like summer ones, which is a huge achievement for Velcro.
Cons
  • Strong lateral drift on snow and ice, weak sidewall and tread.
