I bought this product as a gift for my dad and he loved it. He had never heard of this product before and didn't know anyone who had it, but he seemed very excited about this product. He started talking about the science behind it and how it helps the airflow in the ridges behind the ball to help with buoyancy, something like that. I can't remember all of it, but after using it, he showed how much better the grip on the ball became. I haven't noticed a difference, but I'm not a golfer. All I know is that he was very happy about it and I sincerely think the gift bought him a week. When using, I would recommend sticking it into the combs in one direction with an even distribution, otherwise the combs will dig in more toward the center and become uneven, disrupting airflow and defeating the purpose of this tool. Dragging the sharpener back and forth is the worst thing you can do when sharpening an object as it only weakens it.
