I cook a lot of steaks and there can be a lot of smoke when I look at them. I wanted to cook something simple and easy right out my back door that I could easily get back in. It gets hot very quickly. Perfect browning of the steak at 420 degrees in my small iron skillet. It keeps the temperature perfectly and cools down quickly after cooking. I would also use it to cook anything I don't need to keep the smell in the house, like fish. I like it way more than I expected. It is very easy to care for and also reduces the amount of grease in the kitchen. Seems like it would be very useful for travel or as an extra burner when needed indoors.
