Review on 🌐 High Sensitivity GPS Module Receiver NEO-6M for Arduino GPS, Drone Microcontroller, GPS Receiver, Compatible with STM32, Arduino UNO R3, with Antenna; Navigation Satellite Positioning by Luis Blaschko

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Very poor reception, long time to first reception, no support for advanced open source functions

Pros: 1Hz sync signal, actually GPS Cons: 1: It won't pick up a signal more than 1ft from a 6' x 4' window in a frame house, even if it's itself metal siding or something like that.2 : It takes about 45 minutes when you click on the window to get the first fix, although it only takes a few seconds after that. 3: I haven't searched extensively, but the defaults aren't great and it doesn't look like there's an easy way to change them without downloading proprietary software. It would be great if there was a way to change settings on the fly from the Arduino using a serial command. 4: The 1Hz signal is only on when the GPS knows where it is. I use this in a clock and it would be nice not to use a second hardware timer if this thing loses reception for 2 seconds. Maybe you can change that when you download the software, I don't know.

Pros
  • USB directly connected to the computer, that is, using the host computer serial port function, no external serial module required, transmission interface IPX antenna active !
Cons
  • Almost never
