I bought a couple of picture frames locally. I removed the backing and clips from the frame because I was installing my own mat. The clips had to be removed as the mat was thicker. I bought this pen gun to replace the clips that I removed. It worked great. I was able to assemble my new mats and frames in just a few minutes. I recommend turning off the "Depth" setting first. You will lose a few clips, but you can adjust the depth setting to get the perfect clip depth. Also, either place the wooden frame against a hard surface (wall) or hold it very tight as the clip to be inserted will press against the wooden frame. I only spent 3 clips before I had the perfect setup. If you're reformatting or replacing photos in a frame that uses these types of clips, I highly recommend getting one of these pistols. I would also recommend not bending the clips, just remove the old ones and screw in the new ones. You can buy 600 clips for less than $10. Great product and I highly recommend it. Adorama Camera is also a great place to buy items. I've been using them since the 80's and haven't had any issues with 50+ purchases from them.
