About 18 years ago I bought a $10 set (4 bats, 4 birds with a carry case but I don't remember if a net was included) at Walgreens. It was preserved approx. 15 years to 2018 when I played with it for a few hours every Saturday and Sunday for about 8 months and then let the kids play. This new Franklin set I bought is a replacement. The birds from my first set are still in use. The birds from the new replacement kit fell apart after 30 minutes of play. They probably need to be updated. However, racquets are much better. They are a bit lighter and have more tension, which makes the game more fun until the bird falls apart ;). The net looks a bit cheap and consists of too many parts. We probably won't use it. The only slightly disappointing thing is that this $40 upgrade didn't come with a carrying case. I underestimated the photos and thought the box with the handle was a hard shell tote bag.
