I have a Bend-it pump that has lasted 15 years. Bought from Kmart. However, I recently lost the screw on the cap and the rubber piece that holds the needle. Loved this pump but looks like they no longer sell it. After a long search, it turned out that the Franklin pump is almost identical to the old Bend-it pump. Suggests Franklin bought the rights to this pump. In any case, the photos give the impression that this Franklin pump was almost identical to the pump head with changes to the pump body. Judging by the reviews, I did not like that the compartment for storing additional needles interferes with the correct use of the pump. However, I ordered it because the cap screw and block looked identical to my old Bend-it pump. On receipt, the pump head, including the screw on the cover and the rubber element, are identical between the pumps (except for the pressure gauge). The biggest difference is in the pump part and the storage compartment. I was able to take the screw cap and rubber piece and attach it to my old Bend-it pump. I like the Bend-it better as it has a compartment at the end of the handle to store a spare needle so it doesn't get in the way of pumping. This is a much better design. I'll use my bend-it until it breaks, after that I'll use the Franklin pump. When the Bend-it breaks, I cut off the needle storage compartment and glue it to the end of the Franklin. I'm not sure why Franklin changed the design. I remember when I bought the Bend-it it was more expensive than other similar models, but I liked the extra needle storage. I've included photos of Franklin and Bend-it pumps side by side for comparison. Also see a picture of the needle storage compartment on the Bend-it.
