Both the round and square gauges measure metal perfectly and I have checked with vernier calipers that the decimal equivalent in inches is exactly the same on the square gauge but not the decimal equivalent on the round gauge? I'm sure it's just me who doesn't understand what the decimal equivalent of a round caliber is really for. I just needed something to measure the sheet metal so they fit me perfectly. Also, the calibration slots are pretty accurate, there's no guesswork, they either fit or they don't. Handy tool
