I've been using RAM mounts to attach children's tablets in the car for three years. We started with the EZ-Roller for iPad 2 and it worked great, the only problem was that it didn't fit in any cases. Then we bought her X-Grip for iPad mini and it's still my favorite design. When we got the new iPAD Air 2, I had to consolidate a bit. I needed a new mount to work with both iPAD 2 and iPAD air but with the cover/protector attached. The RAM Tab-Tite looks a little clunky, but it's surprisingly easy to use. It holds both iPads securely and this has been tested on multiple rides of over 3 hours. My wife uses the mount while driving and I was initially concerned that the spring tension would be difficult to control when half rotated in the front seat and pulled towards the iPad facing the rear seats. Turns out the trick is to hold the iPad to the side and press down on the fixed mount while your free hand pulls on the spring-loaded mount.
