The photo shows an old iPad holder with an extension point and two protrusions in the middle. The one I received has two pairs of arms spaced as far apart as possible. The bracket that attaches to the back was an oblong block with two screws. This uses a low profile 2 7/16" surface mount that attaches with 4 screws and is much stronger. I've been using RAM mounts to attach children's tablets in the car for three years. We started with the EZ-Roller for iPad 2 and it worked great, the only problem was that it didn't fit in any cases. Then we bought her X-Grip for iPad mini and it's still my favorite design. When we got the new iPAD Air 2, I had to consolidate a bit. I needed a new mount to work with both iPAD 2 and iPAD air but with the cover/protector attached. The RAM Tab-Tite looks a little clunky, but it's surprisingly easy

When I first looked at the Tab-Tite cradle, I read about angled cups and things like that you can use different tablets. But when the stand arrived, I put it together and tried my iPad in it and it worked flawlessly - no cups, no hassles. The only improvement I would suggest would be to include assembly instructions.

This bracket fits the RAM system perfectly as described. The product also fits my iPad as described. Only 1 problem. It's not thick enough to hold my iPad in the case. I think most iPads are used with a case to protect them. I have a pretty slim portfolio style case. Because of this, it doesn't stick securely to the iPad, which is important in a way. I'm keeping it but I'm disappointed with this purchase.
