This summer I bought 4 of these for my dog cages, one died after 4 days, the other died after a few days. Two are still running, so it's possible they'll keep running. Battery life proved expensive. A set of "D” type batteries will last a maximum of one and a half to two nights. Buying a power supply is the way to go if you don't have a Duracell or energizer. My dogs prefer to sleep on the porch netting year round, we tried them indoors and they weren't happy. Your boxes bask in winners, but summer has always been tough. A normal fan blows too much air, but they keep the air moving well, but don't produce it without a pit fee like in a wind tunnel.
