With the full cage and this cage I find this cage much more versatile. I'm going to break this into two parts; the QR plate and the cell itself. First the QR plate. Honestly that's my favorite part of the cage lol. This is a Manfrotto 501 style plate so the QR plate is already attached even when you step out of the cage. The QR plate has anti-twist pins that fit the bottom of the camera, meaning it won't curl. In addition, the front of the plate is threaded to use the Metabones Support Adapter (applies to BMPCC4K only) to hold the lens adapter securely in place. Finally, the plate has an offset 1/4-20 threaded hole on the bottom of the plate which offsets it perfectly to balance it on most gimbals. Second, the cage. Excellent quality as you would expect from SmallRig. In fact, it breaks down into different parts, making it ideal for travel. The built in NATO rail works great for the top handle BUT as the cage is included the top handle is not very secure as the top of the cage is not attached to the camera. Easy to fix. Go to your local hardware store and get a 1/4-20" wing nut bolt as one of the 1/4-20 holes on the top of the cage will match the 1/4-20 threads on the camera. I just leave it in the cage and it makes it nice and secure and can be pulled out of the cell very quickly. This is a great cage. Very glad I bought it.
