If you have an older Apple Cinema Display and a newer Mac (mine is a 2018 Mac Mini), this adapter will fix ghosting or image retention issues. I bought a (lightly used) Mac Mini and as soon as it first booted up everything on the display was phantom or stuck. The display was connected with an HDMI adapter and I was disappointed. At first I thought it was an old display and a problem with the new Mac, but some research online changed my mind. This adapter looks great and is a perfect match for the Thunderbolt 3 port. After booting a Mac with this adapter, the display is amazing. It's sharp with no ghosting, and for a 15-year-old display, that's VERY good. I highly recommend this adapter.
