The magnet in one of the two antennas was not installed correctly. An antenna held up well on the magnetic surface. Another would fall with a slight push. As a radio engineer/scientist, I picked one that has very little magnetic cohesion. I tested the magnet myself and found it to be good. Put the magnet back in and the repair went fine. Flip the magnet and it wasn't good. I assembled the base with a magnet installed correctly and now both antennas have good magnetic support. One problem was that the adhesive on the bottom cover had lost some of its strength and was no longer able to hold securely. That was my job, not the supplier. These antennas rely on a capacitive connection to the ground plane (metal surface) for proper operation. The size of the base plate is also important. If the antennas don't seem to be working, provide a large area for the antennas to work. Also try changing the distance between them. Another point about the coaxial cable used. The signal loss at a frequency of 2.4 GHz over the length of the coaxial cable is about 10 dB. That's a tenfold factor. For example, a 1 mW signal received at an antenna will only have 0.1 mW at the end of the cable. The signal levels involved in actual use would be much lower. At 5GHz, the cable loss is 20dB or 100 times more. dB numbers are logarithmic. For my use, I shorten the coaxial cable to about 2 feet.
