I bought this because I have Media Pro Box 3.1 and 3.0. One of my hard drives doesn't work in a 3.0 box, but it does in 3.1, which is weird, it's all running through this unit. I decided to check if the drive works in the 3.0 box, plugged it right in and bam! It's so clear that using this device with my 3.0 box doesn't work because when I try to burn to disc all the hard drives in the box get destroyed and all have to be re-plugged. Obviously this switch has problems, don't waste your time Update: The company told me that if the USB extender is not powered, as I told them there is a hole for the power cord but it is not supplied, I was told it wouldn't have enough USB power so it didn't work with my device as I was using a MediaPro hard drive box and it kept disconnecting. I connected it directly to the PC and it works fine. So the problem was that this USB device was poorly made
