I have not used this for a typical application. I just got a new tv stand and one of my dogs loves to put his paws on it and bark at the dogs on the tv. I bought this to put on the top edge/corner to protect it until we can teach it to stop. This stand (if there is such a thing) is a fairly good quality chipboard style with a slightly textured wood finish. It stuck very well and was easy to wrap around the rim and front where his paws slip off. I did the entire top first to make sure everything was even and went on. The slightly textured surface made the bubbles come out easier than usual. The hardest part was the bottom corner of the page, but it's not visible in normal use, so I wasn't too concerned about its beauty. I checked the location to make sure the vinyl wouldn't damage the stand. Vinyl takes on a bit of a finish when peeled off, but doesn't do anything noticeable on the surface. It's shiny so it can be seen mostly from side angles. But it took 2 days for my wife to notice it was there. I've included photos for reference and will update long term if anything happens.
