They tear and break easily. Bad

I'm in my 50's and my hands aren't as strong from arthritis from decades in the factory and they break easily when I try to tighten them. I bought a set of 8 yard lamp solar poles and attached them to the tops of 5 foot metal fence posts around my vegetable garden. broke when i tightened it. I was SHOCKED when I didn't even pull hard enough to tighten it because I haven't had the strength to do so for a few days. Okay, now I have to look for another brand.
