My old house had custom zebra blinds and I really liked them. They are not custom made and come pre-sized so I figured they would fit my window but they were about half an inch too small which means I had to mount them on the outside and top instead of a better internal mount what leaves more room for light. If you install them inside you won't have this problem. > Install inside or outside. The mounts are designed to be used anyway, which saved the day when they didn't fit my frame perfectly. Because it is not installed inside, it lets light through on the sides, but if installed in a frame, it would block almost all light. >Easy installation. If you've never installed blinds before, it'll take you a few minutes to figure it out. Sit with them and practice assembly before putting the brackets on the wall or you won't figure it out once they're on the wall. > GENERAL - so why 4 stars instead of 5? because the materials are cheap. BUT. The zebra blinds at this price are amazing. At this price, regular blinds are almost impossible to find. They work and I would recommend and buy them again. but - the chain is very cheap, white plastic (and plain). The mounts are decent, but the plastic parts of the mount that you have to squeeze together to install are very cheap. It became almost inseparable just because the plastic didn't compress as easily. If it ever breaks, you won't be able to install them. I would still buy it again because of the price and the dimmability. Hide the cheap chain and you only have to assemble it once - so who cares about the cheap plastic on the brackets. The blinds themselves and the blinds housing are of decent quality. The manufacturer can make the chain out of cheap metal and improve the quality of the plastic on the clasps and I would give it 5 stars.
