Review on HERO 72 Watercolor Pencils: Vibrant Colors for Art Students & Professionals - Set of 72 by Heather Brown

Try it! for drawing media

I bought this set of watercolor pencils after buying a 24 pack of another brand of pencils and realizing I needed more colors to really get everything with it to make the same accuracy as my standard watercolor set. After seeing the reviews and drawings included in the reviews of these pens, I decided to try them. First, they will be shipped in PERFECT condition; When opening an elegant metal can (with practical loops and dividers), only two tips of the pencil broke. Not a single pencil broke and the tips were attached using a large hole manual pencil sharpener (note: they will not fit a smaller standard pencil sharpener, use the larger hole for dual option pencils). After that they were fine and I've only had to sharpen them when I've worn down the tip from use, no breakage issues. Second, although there are no names on the pencil itself, there is a guide at the top (with the English names of the case matching the numbers on the pencils. Also, the end caps are pretty accurate. My only setback was when I eventually got to one I chose dark purple color instead of black. That's why you always test the color before applying! Finally, I would highly recommend this to anyone who has worked with watercolor before and is looking for a new medium to experiment with (like me). Mixed media Or just to try :)

Pros
  • Ideal for a variety of uses including painting, discovering the colors of the rainbow, generating ideas for office use, sketching, painting, layering, blending, buffing and more. The pencils are solidly made from high quality wood which makes them unbreakable
