Review on Atune Analog Function Correction 4 Digital by Neil Bodell

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Nice little DVD player

Well I've had it for a week or so. It's really cute just for its size. I've had books bigger than this one. The power cord is just over a meter long, which is a nuisance. I was lucky there was a plug nearby, but an extra foot of power cord would have been better. The device comes with a set of thin but workable RCA cables. I have professional grade RCA cords I got while working at a TV station, cord guard springs on connectors, heavy duty cord and insulation. . . and when i tried them out with this dvd player, the weight of the cables literally pulled the player out of an antique dresser, which I use as a tv stand, but the picture is fine with the cables that come with it, the playback is crisp and clear. The device has a functional set of controls on the front panel of the player, which are sometimes absent in our time. The remote is a bit small for my hands and the layout is a bit cramped and wonky, but it works as long as you're in a fairly narrow area where the remote and device can see each other. old DVD sets so far. The device has a resume function that picks up where you left off. In fact, the device has a pretty decent settings menu. It's enough to get you started but not enough to understand everything, you need a degree in audio and electrical engineering. My only complaints so far have been: 1 - The device can be a bit noisy when downloading or searching for tracks, but it whispers quietly when viewing content. 2 - Sometimes subtitles are re-enabled. There is a control on the remote control, press 2-3 times and it is solid 3 - the already mentioned short power cord There are a lot of pluses. The player must be region-free, I don't have any third-party DVDs to test this with. The small form factor means you can place it almost anywhere. It fits easily under the corner of my big screen TV, leaving space. The display is orange, I don't know why. It's unattractive, but easy to read from across the room (maybe that's why it's orange). There is a voice reading function for the visually impaired. It reads each control or function as soon as it is selected. This is not a complaint or a plus. Most devices have an LED that stays lit to let you know the device is in standby mode and ready to use. This block takes things up a notch. When it's off, it literally shows "OFF" on the screen for everyone to see. I am very satisfied with the functionality of this device. I have a decent collection of DVDs that I haven't had a chance to watch in a while, so I'm looking forward to seeing these old favorites like Serial Experiment Lain, Robot Chicken, Wonderfalls, and more. Edit - I received instructions from the manufacturer and another user to set this device as an unrestricted region. I've followed them multiple times and always come back to Region 1. When set to Test - Region 0 (presumably a region setting with no restrictions), discs with Region 1 become unplayable! See the picture I posted. The menus load but try to play content and the message screen I shared says "This drive is not formatted for playback in this region." that's all you get. The manufacturer could not offer a solution. " that's all you get. The manufacturer could not offer a solution. " that's all you get. The manufacturer could not offer a solution.
