The unit is designed to be transported by bike. It was set up for the Presta valve I have on my recumbent trike but the instructions are graphic charts so hard to decipher! Finally figured out that you have to press the pump against the presta valve, then flip the locking lever up (on) and then use the pump to inflate the tire. To change to a Schrader valve, unscrew the end of the pump that goes to the valve stem, lift the locking lever (which pushes out the two pieces you need to replace), flip the two blocks over and install them at the end of the pump. . Unscrew the end of the bracket and you're good to go. Love the built in pressure gauge and it gives your arms a workout for higher pressure tires! The mounting bracket doesn't match the bolt pattern on my bike so I suspect they are undersizing the pump bracket. I put everything in the kit in a bike bag, so I don't currently use the mount.
